James Walker,Jr. MD became a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 1990. In order to maintain the highest level of preparation, he participates in an annual renewal process of certification. He has been Chief of Staff at D. W. McMillan Hospital since 2003.For many years, Dr. Walker has served on Reginal Perinatal Advisory Council (RPAC) and on the State Perinatal Advisory Council (SPAC). He served as president of RPAC in 2012 and 2013.
Dr. Walker was educated at LSU Medical School in New Orleans, graduating in the top 15% of his class. He continued his education with a residency in the LSU system; during his four years he trained at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Lafayette Regional Medical Center in Lafayette and Moss Regional Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles.
